Our training consists of three curriculums:

ONE: A one-day workshop to help importers or clearing agent staff achieve a better understanding of Customs requirements etc and in doing so help them address the requirements Section 98 and 99 of the Customs Act. The participants are issued with a manual and certificate of completion.

The one-day workshop for covers the following topics:

• Introduction to Customs and their functions.

• Required clearance documentation (content required & use).

• De-mystifying tariff classification.

• Understanding customs valuation.

• Insight into Bonded warehouses and Industrial Rebate.

• Look at some of the more popular General Rebate and 5^th Schedule items.

• Handling of Errors (under- and overpayments [refunds]).

• Customs Accreditation Scheme.

TWO: A course consisting of 8 modules for clearing agents.

These modules are presented in eight half-day sessions which is less disruptive to the operational environment and covers the following topics:

• Introduction to Customs and their workings/Clearing Agent Agreement/Customs Accreditation and related Agreement.

• Customs Documentation.

• Customs Valuation.

• Tariff Classification and related International Rules.

• Practical Application to Tariff Classification.

• Customs Declarations/Bonded Warehouses/Rebate Stores/General Rebates.

• Responsibilities/Liabilities/lmpact of Errors/Refunds/Drawbacks of Duty.

• Final Assessment of all work covered during modules 1 to 7.

This course begins with a written pre-assessment of the participant's current knowledge. Thereafter each module starts with a short assessment of the previous session's content. At completion each participant is given a manual plus a certificate of completion after successful completion. An attendance register and report on the performance of the attendees is provided.

THREE: A one-and-a-half-day course dealing with legal issues with respect to Bonded Warehouses and the Degroup Facility.

• Understanding of the legal requirements.
• Assessment of the participants knowledge at the start and at the end of the course. Each participant is given a manual plus certificate of completion after successful completion.
